Burrmese troops continue to commit crimes in Kachinland

Myitkyina, capital of Kachinland A religious leader Mr. Awng Myat, staff of Myitkyina Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC) was arrested by Dap Kawng Police on September 14th 2012.  Mr. Awng Myat is the Camp Leader at Jan Mai Kawng Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp. The special police branch from the capital Naypyidaw interrogated him for the entire day until late in the evening. Previously, a registered IDP Mr Lahtaw Brang Shawng was arbitrarily arrested from the camp on June 17th 2012 and severely tortured to illicit a confession to having connection with the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) while in detention. He was taking refuge at the same camp with his wife and three young children since the war broke out. The Burmese authorities have yet to release Lahtaw Brang Shawng.   Phakant, Western Kachinland The Burmese battalion retreated from a mountain outpost near Seng Ja Bum to Sut Mai Yang village on September 12th 2012. At 15:00 p.m. local time on September 13th 2012, Burmese troops fired small weapons and large artillery into Sut Mai Yang and Maw Wan villages. It was raining and the troops were intoxicated due to excessive drinking the whole day. The battalion commander was stationed at the head of village’s house, while his deputy commander Bo Kalay was stationed in the west of the village. While Bo Kalay was threatening villagers with a hand grenade it exploded in his hand and cost him his and two of his colleagues’ lives. The battalion commander thought it was the KIA firing at his battalion, he then ordered his unit to start firing at the West of the village. After realizing his mistake of firing at each other, the battalion commander felt embarrassed and started to fire small weapons and large artillery in all directions within the village. Coincidently, it was the end of the school day and students including young children had to hide from the Burmese troops. Miss. Ja Seng Jing, a 14 year old 9th standard student was unfortunate, she was hiding in the drainage ditch on the road side where the Burmese troops were passing. The troops, saw her and shot her in the waist from the back. The girl’s father pleaded with the battalion commander to let him take her to the hospital but he refused permission. Instead the troops took the father to the battalion’s camp. Later, once the situation calmed down, the girl’s mother and relative took her to the hospital but she died due to excessive bleeding as they could not remove the bullet in time.   The battalion commander summoned the villagers to the location of the incident where his deputy died by grenade explosion.     The villagers were threatened and forced to carry Bo Kalay’s dead body and two injured soldiers to the battalion’s camp. From Sut Ngai Yang village, the Burmese troop fired into Maw Wan village with large and small weapons. The large ammunition hit Maw Wan Church and Maw Wan High School where five students were injured. Villagers were taken to the battalion’s camp around 18:00 local time to act as human shields during the entire evening before releasing 100 women and children and 50 men were held by the Burmese troops, but later released around 20:00 p.m. local time.   List of dead and injured civilians No Name Age Location Incident Remark 1 Miss. The fighting took place on 17 July 2012 at Ming Noi and Loi Kang villages which is under KIA 4th Brigade control areas. According to front line report cited that (36th) KIA forces has defensive attack against Burmese soldiers’ intrusion into KIA control areas. No exact casualty was reported from both sides as the fight stop and Burmese soldiers are hiding in steep valley and mountains around KIA bases. There was another fierce fighting between Burmese army and KIA troops due to Burmese army intrusion into KIA control territories. The fighting took place on 17JULY2012 at (6:00am) in Bum Sawn Bum located between Laiza town and Daw Hpung Yang Town under KIA 5th Brigade control territory. Due to Burmese army intrusion, 24th KIA battalion forces have well defended against enemy attacked. There was no casualty from KIA troops but the fighting wounded unknown numbers of Burmese soldiers according to front line report. The Burmese army and regime government is still continuing attacking and planning major attack to capture KIA administrative areas. Burmese Army and regime government has no genuine intension for peace or national reconciliation with KIA or KIO and Kachin people and other ethnic races in Burma. Since June 2011 Burmese army has started attacking against KIA and Kachin people for the intention of invasion Kachin Land for ethnic cleansing and natural resources. After one year, the fighting still continue and intensify to disarm or capture KIA, this will never solve the problem or achieve peace with Kachin people and other ethnic races in Burma.

According to frontline report, (31) Burmese soldiers are intruding into KIA control area that caused KIA special force was led by Du Tau Nsen Tu Ja have initiate defensive attacked against  enemy intrusion. KIA 5th Brigade special force has attacked against Burmese army intrusion into Na Lung village KIA control area Kachin State. However, there was no casualty from KIA force and unknown numbers of soldiers of Burmese soldiers wounded in the defensive attacked launch by KIA force. Burmese army has intruded into KIA control area during 17 years of cease fire agreement then station there as one of Burmese army base. KIA and KIO have requested several times to Burmese regime government through peace delegates to withdraw their army from KIA control areas before before peace negotiation.  However Burmese regime and army have ignore request and continue to build up more troops into KIA control areas.  According to frontline reported that (800) Burmese soldiers are heading toward Laiza, KIA administrative town and planning to launch major offensive attack against KIA command center. If they do is it will be biggest mistake the Burmese army and the government ever committed against Kachin people. We all Kachin people have no choice but stand up as one nation to defend our land and our people.

The attack took place on 27 June 2012, according to frontline reported that the more than (50) Burmese soldiers  from Seng Tawng village, Hpakan District was moving to Tamahkan village under 2nd Brigade KIA control territories. While Burmese soldiers are on their way to Seng Tawng village, two road side bombs exoploded and seriousely wounded two Burmese soldiers according to report. These two wounded soldiers are taken to Tamahkam village hospital for treatment. There was another firece fighting intrusion battle by Burmese army against (36) KIA battalion troops under 4th Brigade KIA base. The battle took placed in Hkalum village on 26 June 2012 at about (9:40am) loacal time. The Burmese battalion force (45) base in Kutkai are coming from Wadin Kapna China boarder town toward KIA control territories. According to frontline reported that the fighting killed (8) Burmese soldiers and (4) others wounded. The injured Burmese soldiers are taken to Shweli through China for emergency treatment in local hospital.        At same evening, Burmese soldiers immediately return to Hkalum village then shot dead Mr. Dawshi Ma Gam, 42 years old while he was planting corn in his farm. According eye witness reported that he was not arm farmer from that village, Burmese soldiers killed this innocent Kachin civilian men for retaliation of the lost of their fellow soldiers lifes in the battle against KIA in the the same village. Not only the Burmese soldiers killed innocent villager but also killed Ying Shin Shang (Chinese). Suddent rise of Malihka river that caused severe flood and destroyed villeger’s homes and gold mining operations in that areas. However there was no heavy downfall of rain around the region but suprisingly high wave of flood water caused terrible destruction to villagers livelyhood. The flood has also destroyed goldmine machines and equipments that stop their daily works. The villagers are shortage of food supplies and fear of their lifes and  future. KIA troops have captured and gained full control of Burmese army battalion base in Gang Dau Du on 26 June 2012 at about (1:30pm) local time. There was no immediate report of causalties from both side. According to report cited that Burmese army has intensified the attack in KIA administrative territories even during Peace Talk with KIO in KIA control areas. The Burmese army continue attacking KIA troops and desptach more soldier as well as weapon while discussion or peace talk with KIO. KIO has highlighted may time to Burmese peace talk delegates to stop sending more soldiers, weapons, artilleries and to withdraw Burmese forces from KIA control territories in order to end fighting civil war. However Burmese army and the government ignore the several requests from KIA and KIO to discuss peaceful political mean for lasting peace if government of Burma willing and honest to achieve peace or national reconciliation in the country with all races. Burmese polices have arrested Mr Brang Shang from IDP camp Jan Mai Kawng, Myitkyina Kachin State. The local polic accued Mr Brang Shawng for the crime he did not committed and being threaten and force him to admit falsely the past several boming in Myikyina capital city of Kachin State. The GOVERNMENT of BURMA’s local polices have bring  around Mr Brang Shawng to within Myitkyina city and Mali Hka bridge to acts as though he was planting the bombs according eyes witness reports and other sources. Another confirmed source reported that Burmese local police in Myitkyina arresting all Kachin civilian has bear the same name call Brang Shawng as a suspect. This acts of police has outrages among many local Kachin people. Burmese police, army and government always do this kind of foolishness to Kachin people, other ethnic people as well as to its own Burmese people such as army generals, monks and civilian. Then put them in jail for no charges, no evidence, no crime that they committed and worse still fighting for freedom and nobel peace winner like Aung San Suu Kyi was under house arrest for over 17 years, what’s more to other citizen of Burma have no right and living under oppression.

There was another ambush defensive attack on 06 June 2012, against Burmese army intrusion into KIA control territories. There are over (30) Burmese soldiers from Nam Tau intruding into Mungbaw area under 4^th Brigade KIA base control territories in Shan State. The defensive ambush took place at sugar cane plantation plain field near Shabuk Kawng Hka village. The ambush was led by only (10) KIA special Task force(MHH) against over (30) Burmese soldiers. KIA Special Task Force (MHH) are trained to destroy target with maximum impact at minimal forces and shortest time possible. Aftermath, Burmese army (123) with over (100) soldiers from Nam Hpaka base arrived to pick up seriously wounded their fellow soldiers.

There was another Burmese intrusion attack against 38th Battalion KIA forces base in Shan State. The Burmese army has returning from Munggu village crossing into 4^th Brigade KIA base in Shan State. According to front line reported that (4) Burmese soldiers killed and (5) wounded in this offensive attack by Burmese army. The Burmese army has mobilized estimated over 160 its Battalion in KIA control territories since June 2011 Burmese military started civil war against KIA as well as Kachin people.

Burmese army has deploying more troops into KIA control territories despite panning by Burmese army for discussion with KIO. The Burmese army or Regime government has no sincere heart for peace with KIA/KIO and Kachin people. They are just like double edges sword, on the other hand talk about discussion and at the same time dispatch more troop into KIA control territories to attack KIA and inflict suffering as well as brutality to Kachin people. Therefore, we Kachin people will not sign peace agreement again with Burmese army or Regime government after 17 years of peace treaty was broke by Burmese army on 09 June 2011 till today. According to eye witness reported cited that every day more Burmese troops are arriving into KIA control territories. As per front line report, on 04 June 2012 Burmese army tat ma (11) arrived in Dabak area through Gara Yang village. According eye witness reported that the same Burmese soldiers are saying that they will attack Laiza Town, KIA administrative Capital. We Kachin people are ready to defend against any enemy against us, we will fight for freedom until the end. We Kachin people united as one people will never surrender to any army or dictator.

On 05 June 2012, there was another intrusion attacked by Burmese army against 5^th Brigade KIA base under control territories. The Burmese army offensive attack took place at Npawn village under KIA control territories due to Burmese aggression against KIA. Almost every day Burmese army attacking against KIA targets in all over KIA control territories.

There was another intrusion attack on 05 June 2012 by Burmese army against 5^th Brigade KIA forces. The attack took place at Laja Yang village under KIA control territories. The village is located between Myitkyina City and Manmaw (Bhamo) Town Kachin State. However there was no exact casualty reported from both side.

On 04 June 2012, Burmese battalion hk-ma-y (390) has intrusion into Npawn village under KIA control territories. While the same Burmese soldiers are mobilizing around Dum Bang Mountain 5^th KIA forces have launched defensive attack against Burmese intrusion. The defensive battle took placed at (2:30pm) local time and 9 horses are among Burmese soldiers, carrying supplies and ammunitions according to front line report.

According to report cited that more than (300) Burmese soldiers has mobilized in 1^st Brigade KIA control areas which is located in upper Irrawady river. On 03 June 2012, Burmese soldiers have arrived in Tiyang Zup under KIA control territories at (1:15pm) local time. These Burmese soldiers have issue warning to  against all boats to stop travelling and doing their normal daily living for survival according eye witness reported.

On 04 June 2012 morning, Burmese soldiers fired 5 round of (105m) artilleries against 5^th Brigade KIA base. The artilleries shelling was targeted at KIA forces station in Hpun Pyen Bum. However there was no immediate report of casualty from both side. Burmese army is continue its offensive and intrusion into KIA control territories and against Kachin civilian since June 2011.

However no immediate report of casualty and injury from both side. Burmese army has intensified attack against KIA and civilian in since Jun 2011 into KIA control territories.

On 30 May 2012, Burmese army soldiers arrested Slg. Pat Tu from IDP camp  in Janmai Kawng quarter, Myitkyina, Capital City of Kachin State  without any reasons given. Kachin civilian Slg. Pat Tu was abducted from internally displaced person (IDP) camp in Myitkyina by (9) Burmese soldiers from (ts-a-hp) (p-t-z) Burmese army Myitkyina Kchin State.  Slg. Pat Tu was resident of Talaw Gyi village Kachin State and moved to Janmai Kawng IDP Myitkyinna recently. He is father of left two children and left his home due to raging civil war intensified by Burmese army in his village. According to report, he was taken away by Burmese soldiers and tied him up with rope then torture him brutally. Thus people in the IDP camp living under constant fear of Burmese army brutality and torture. Burmese army has intentionally torture, gange rape and killing of innocent Kachin civilian since June 2011 after Burmese Military cleared civil war against KIA and Kachin civilian. 

How could Burmese soldiers being able to come from China side crossing into KIA control areas and what is the motive behind it?

In fact those with seriously wounded soldiers are transfer to  Kunming hospital China to seek for treatment as per report. At the same time boarder guard force (NDAK) under direct command of Burmese army is spying on KIA and KIO families members living in China and number of people receiving medical treatment in China. The battle took placed at Lan Zawn ung 1st KIA Brigade control area. The front line report confirmed that many of Burmese soldiers were killed and wounded in this battle despite KIA requested Burmese army several time to withdraw its army from KIA control territories. Burmese military has intensify civil war battle against KIA and Kachin civilian since June 2011, Military has launched estimated 1800 attacked in KIA area, Kachin civilian, Churches as well and  IDP camps.

According to front line report cited that Burmese army base in Hangkai mountain fired more than 10 rounds of 105mm artillery against Laja Yang KIA base. However among them (6) exploded in civilian village and the rest landed in away from target. This is where 5th Brigade KIA command base under KIA control areas. Burmese battalion soldiers from Hka-L-Ya (40) Hopin Base are launchong its offensive attack against KIA forces. Burmese military has deployed estimated 160 battalion troops into KIA control territories for civil war against Kachin people and KIA since June 2011 civil war declared by Burmese military.
